OVERVIEW

Naivasha is home to Hell’s Gate National Park and Lake Naivasha with pristine natural beauty to offer.Hell’s Gate National Park. (Heaven’s volcanic glory)

Hell’s Gate National Park covers an area of 68.25 sq. km and is situated in the environs of Lake Naivasha about 90km from Nairobi. The park is 14km after the turn-off from the old Nairobi –Naivasha highway.

It is characterized by diverse topography and geographical scenery. It is an important home of the lammergeyer.

Attractions – Game viewing, raptor nesting in cliffs, spectacular gorge walks, hot springs, scenic landscape, the Geothermal Station, Maasai culture.

Wildlife Includes eland, buffalo, lion, giraffe, zebra, leopard, impala, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelle, klipspringer, rock hyrax and chandler’s mountain reedbuck.

Activities – Hiking, camping, rock climbing, biking, bird watching and wildlife viewing

ITINERARY

Full Day Excursion

Lake Naivasha is the focus of daily activities.The driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi at 08.00 am  after your breakfast.Proceed to Lake Naivasha National park with a stopover at the edge of the Great Rift Valley for refreshment and photos .

Continue with the safari and arrive with game drive followed with lunch break.

There are several activities to follow at an extra cost eg

  1. Boating trip which provides a close view of Naivasha’s wide variety of birdlife and its hippo colonies.
  2. Crescent Island, 15 minutes away by boat, is a private game sanctuary, with Zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, velvet monkeys, hares, genet cats, waterbuck and giraffe.
  3. Hiking
  4.  Horse ride.
  5. Cycling You will return to Nairobi at 04.00pm to arrive at around 06.30 pm

Meal: Lunch at Lake Naivasha Sopa lodge or similar
