Lake Baringo

Tourist attractions in Lake Baringo national park: Lake Baringo is a fascinating national park situated in the remote west-central region of Kenya in a distance of 290 kilometers from Nairobi, the park is located in Baringo County. Lake Baringo is a less known lake when compared to its fellow rift valley lakes such as Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, and Bogoria, though it is a hidden gem with breathtaking scenic views, abundant birdlife, islands, and animals. Lake Baringo is a great stopover while on a safari on the northern circuit tour in destinations like Samburu national reserve, Shaba and Buffalo Springs national parks.

Lake Bogoria

Lake Bogoria is a shallow saline lake within the Great Rift Valley lying north of the equator famously known for its hot springs, geysers and huge amounts of blue-green algae attract hundreds of lesser flamingos on the lake.

Kakamega National Reserve

Time has stood still for the Kakamega Forest, a remnant of the rain forest that stretched all across Central Africa. This beautiful forest is home to various mammals including bush pigs, giant forest hedgehogs, colobus monkeys, Debrazzar monkeys and pottos. Some of the birds to be seen here include the Blue Headed Bee Eater, Black Billed Turaco, Turner’s Eremomela and Grey Parrots. Bird watching, hiking and rock climbing can be enjoyed here in the serenity of the forest that time forgot.

The lake Nakuru National park

One of the 8 Rift Valley lakes lies in this volcano-strewn Valley, which stretches through the length of Kenya from Tanzania and Ethiopia. The Park which is 188 square kilometres is an abode of various water birds that breed in the lake’s salty water including flamingos, white pelicans and marabou stork; white rhino may be seen as well as the rare Rothschild’s giraffe, Cape buffalo and other plains game.

Day 1: Nairobi- Airport- Hotel

Our Staff will pick you from the Airport after you are through with  migration formalities they will then check you in a city hotel for overnight.

Day 2: Nairobi – Lake Baringo

Pick up from your hotel and drive through limuru descending to the floor of the Great Rift Valley with a brief stop at the view point to refresh and take photos. Proceed to Lake Baringo Via Nakuru. These are one of the two fresh water lakes in the Rift Valley and a bird watchers paradise. It has over 460 recorded bird species and a number of hippos.  The rooms have plenty of information on the areas of bird life. A resident ornithologist leads walks before breakfast and in the evening. Diner and overnight at Camp/lodge

Day 3: Lake Baringo

After breakfast leave for Lake Baringo  for bird watching view more birds and hippos. You will return  Lake Bogoria a shallow soda lake hosting thousands of pink flamingos, a large number of other birds and the lesser kudu. Scalding hot springs and geysers at the southern end of the lake spurt and stem their alkaline waters. The bubbling of water springs, hundreds of singing weaver birds, and a million flamingos feeding in the bluish water presents a rare scenic beauty. Diner and overnight at the camp/lodge

Day 4: Lake Bogoria – Kakamega National Reserve

After breakfast drive to Kakamega national reserve. This is the country’s only tropical rain forest and formed part of the dense rain forest that stretch from West Africa, across Central Africa and into the highland areas East and West of the Great Rift Valley. The forest is world renowned as home to several hundred species of birds including rare snake eating birds, insects, monkeys and other mammals as well as countless exotic tree species. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 5: Kakamega National Reserve

After breakfast carry packed lunch for you will spend full day in Kakamega National reserve with bird walks accompanied by game wardens our driver/guide. Return late evening for dinner and overnight at lodge/hotel.

Day 6: Kakamega National Reserve –  Lake Nakuru National Park

Depart from Kakamega after breakfast to Lake Nakuru National Park, arrive on time for lunch/ check in. The park is home to stunning flocks of lesser and greater flamingos, which literally turn the lake shore into a magnificent pink stretch. The bird life here is world renown and over 400 species can be seen, white pelicans and the Marabou stork, all water birds that bleed in the lakes alkaline waters. You may also spot white rhino, rare Rothschild giraffe and other plain game. Return to lodge /camp.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru National Park-Lake Naivasha National Park

A pre breakfast bird spotting drive in the park and around the lake before returning to the lodge for breakfast .Depart Nakuru and drive to the Lake Naivasha national park with a brief stop at Lake Elementaita.The Park is famous for its natural steaming geysers and a haven of bird watchers. The walking/hiking in the park gives one a sense of freedom, open space and a clear view of wildlife. The cliffs are breeding grounds for Vultures, Verreauxs eagles, augur buzzards and thousands of swifts. Over 120 species have been recorded here,lunch/check in and the afternoon to spend at leisure either to explore the rich bird filled gardens or an OPTIONAL boat ride  to Crescent Island( At an extra cost). Return to lodge/camp for overnight.

Day 8: Lake Naivasha National Park – Nairobi

Breakfast at leisure, depart to Nairobi at around 10.00am and arrive in the afternoon in your hotel. Afternoon at leisure, dinner at the Carnivore restaurant, Optional transfer to the airport and catch a flight back home.
