Samburu National Reserve

Samburu National reserve is special for its arid, dramatic landscapes and as the exclusive home to the & Samburu Special Five & rare northern wildlife species not typically found in southern Kenya. The life-giving Ewaso Nyiro River attracts high concentrations of wildlife, including large number elephants and large predators, against a backdrop of rocky, red-earth scenery.
The special five: The reserve is famous for protecting five species unique to this northern ecosystem: The Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, Somali Ostrich, and Gerenuk (a long-necked antelope that feeds while standing on its hind legs). ITINERARY

Day 1: Nairobi -Samburu National reserve

Depart Nairobi in the Morning to Samburu at the North rugged Semi desert region, though harsh contains some of the species rarely found elsewhere e.g. Reticulated giraffes, gravy’s zebra, Beisa Oryx’s, Somali Ostrich, gerenuk, vulturine, guinea fowl among others. Arrive in time for lunch/check in afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at a lodge.

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve

Morning and afternoon game drives in Samburu with lunch and leisure break in the mid afternoon. Optional visit to Samburu villages (extra cost). Dinner/overnight at a lodge.

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve – Nairobi

Pre-breakfast game drive, after breakfast depart for Nairobi arriving in the afternoon, to be dropped at your hotel/airport
