Ol Pejeta Conservancy is globally renowned as the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and home to the world’s last two remaining white rhinos. Located in Kenya, it acts as a pioneering, non-profit, and IUCN Green List status-awarded conservancy that successfully integrates sustainable cattle ranching with wildlife protection and community development.
The Sweetwater’s Chimpanzee- overview
The Sweetwater’s Chimpanzee Sanctuary, located within Kenya’s Ol Pejeta Conservancy, was established in 1993 in partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute to provide lifelong refuge to orphaned and abused chimpanzees, primarily from West and Central Africa. It is the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, housing over 35-40 rescued individuals in natural, large, river-separated enclosures.
Mount Kenya Animal orphanage-overview
The Mount Kenya Animal Orphanage, located within the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club, is special for its focus on rehabilitating orphaned, injured, or abandoned wildlife—particularly the critically endangered Bongo antelope—for release back into the wild.
